I Know Why We Sleep!
To get rest. We’re more alert after the proper amount of ‘good’, and by that I mean deep according to the REM cycle, sleep. Therefor we are better able to handle tasks, our emotions are more stable, etc. Sleeping also helps our brains process - hence why studying before bed has been proven to help you learn and memorize better.
Everyone knows this. Those are just a few, obvious...

The Top Gets Higher The More That I Climb
One of my guilty pleasure songs is “Drop the World” by Li’l Wayne feat. Eminem. It’s so full of the F-bomb that bleeping it essentially renders the chorus a string of disjointed articles and pronouns.
But something about it (chord progressions, perchance) makes me emotional. I know - seriously I get pumped up and my chest pounds and my head nods and I wish I was on a stage...

Writer's Rooms →
Came across this today.
Personally, I write curled up on the couch in kind of an uncomfortable position for my legs that puts the laptop at the proper height for me to type. I like writing longhand but my brain moves too quickly so I don’t write for too long that way. Every now and then I go to a cafe.
I wish I had a gorgeous room filled with sentimental trinkets and reference books. Some...

Yay for the Tumblr iPhone app update with native reblogging. I would just not reblog things because it was such a giant pain. Ephemeral lost before its time.

Tell this to the customers who look at me like I’ve walked in on them in the bathroom for the third time when I greet them and tell them about our sale. YOU came in HERE!

I haven’t had much legitimately big news as of late, which is disheartening. Especially when so many people around me are doing so well and I want to join the party.
But now I have some fairly big, definitely exciting news but I can’t say anything about it yet. In fact, I don’t even know when I can say anything.
This is slowly killing me.
Like, I may die before I can tell...

I Want to Dress Like This Every Day - The Row →
I need more cigarette pants and a long blazer. Just saying. Thought when I put out that plea for the sunhat I got no response. I guess I have to pay my own way in this life. :(

The Meaning of Snafu →
I looked up the proper spelling of this word to use in an email and was surprised to find the origin. I was also surprised to find that one of the example sentences is literally something that happens in my apartment….It’s fubar, to keep with the military, f-bomb-related slang.
What a snafu! All the power went off when you turned on the coffeepot.

The Edward Lighthart Case
Here is a really well-written, coherent run down of The Case of Edward Lighthart - an educated man who woke up in Discovery Park, Seattle with no ID and $600 in his sock. Oh, and no memory of who he was or how he got there.
Absolutely fascinating. Props to the Internet for solving the case. I’m dying to know where he is RIGHT NOW. Why doesn’t this man have a blog? Or a movie deal?

Memory & Identity
So I’m working on this feature-length comedy about memory, identity and destiny. Sounds like pretty light fair, right?
Anywho, I’m researching amnesia right now and I thought this was interesting: when you blackout from alcohol or drugs and you have blank spots in your memory (drunk texting is going to start a war one day, I tell you) it’s not that you forgot. The event...

cannonball101:
I was going to make a post about some news I just found out about success a screenwriter friend of mine is having, but I refrained because I thought, what if somehow that company stumbles upon my blog, sees what I’ve written and then doesn’t buy my friend’s screenplay because he was already talking about it with his friends and they are blogging about it??
Is there some kind of...
